If you are interested by a cheap, yet tablet to hide underneath the Christmas tree, Toshiba might have the perfect choice for you: Exicite 10 SE, an Android-powered gadget starting from $350. At first glance, the new model doesn't seem to differ all that much from the other 10-inch tablets included in Excite lineup. However, there is one major notable difference between the new Excite 10 SE and the older tablets manufactured by Toshiba: the price, it's cheaper than iPad 2 starting at $399. It's like you are making plans for Google Nexus and instead you get something better, a Toshiba creation.

Indeed, Toshiba Excite 10 SE sells for $100 less than its 10-inch predecessor. I have to add that the new tablet is powered by an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor and runs Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), which is fantastic.

Additional hardware specifications include a 10.1-inch display, a HD resolution front camera, integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0, 16 GB of integrated storage and a microSD card slot for storage expansion, all packed into a tablet weighing 1.4 pounds.

The tablet is expected to launch on December 6. The original Excite 10 is available online for around $400 if you can't wait until December 6. If you want a smaller screen, like Excite 7.7-inch tablet, you can pick one for the same $350, at least this is the position of the official release press, you will see if the prices change during the first week of existence (I bet that the smaller version will cost $250-$300, but let's wait for the facts).
